CRECHE

CRECHE

We admit babies from 3 months old into our Crèche. Our goal is to provide a home away from home for our babies. We encourage continued breastfeed by our moms who have to go back to work soon after childbirth. Our caregivers are trained to provide the best care for the babies, which include flexibility in feeding, sleeping and diapering based on the needs of each individual baby. Our Crèche environment is visually stimulating and engaging for our small minds especially as we recognize that our little brains are like sponges, absorbing everything in their environment.

PLAYGROUP
The playgroup environment is also very visually stimulating as the children are frequently exposed to educational toys, DVDs and interactive activities.
This is the class the babies move to from crèche. When each child moves depends on a number of factors, the most important of which is that they should already be walking to qualify to move to playgroup. The playgroup class is a very active class and here the children begin to learn to get into routines, preparatory to the structured environment of the Nursery School.
In playgroup the children also begin to get ready for Nursery School. They engage in a lot of singing, dancing, outdoor play, free colouring activities and scribbling (pre-writing skills). The naptimes, feeding and diapering times become more structured and routine.
The playgroup environment is also very visually stimulating as the children are frequently exposed to educational toys, DVDs and interactive activities.
NURSERY
Nursery class is the beginning of formal school. This is also the transition class to a much more structured environment of formal school.
We teach the children to feed themselves and towards the end of the school year, they are feeding themselves independently or with minimal support most of the time.
Academically, the children in the Nursery classes learn to recognize the alphabets and each alphabet sound. They also begin to recognize number 1-10. They work on pre-writing skills with emphasis on correct pencil grip. There are also lots of art and music activities, story-telling, basic comprehension skills. We begin to bring the world into the classroom with a lot of visually engaging, interactive activities online using the overhead projectors in the classroom.
